Checklist for Shoot

Some suggestions to consider...

  1. Music. Bring tunes that will inspire you. iPod's, CD's or whatever. I've got great tunes here too. I'm always listening to RadioParadise.com

  2. A friend! Someone who you feel really comfortable with and who can make you smile like no one else. Only bring this person if you're absolutely certain they will add to the shoot, obviously this is totally optional.

  3. If you wear contact lenses make sure to bring all the accessories.

  4. Eyeglasses. A good accessory for some, not for everyone though. Please try to have the lenses removed before the shoot if possible, otherwise 'glare resistant coatings' are a must.

  5. Bottoms: For most headshots and unless we're going for a 3/4 or body shot I rarely see below the belt - maybe a knee or something. So just a few options should do it. Make sure they go with what you're bringing.

  6. Tops: Bring at least four choices for every look. It's best to bring extra options.

  7. Avoid clothing that has stark, busy patterns or stripes with lots of contrast. Solids and subtle patterns work best and distract less. Avoid white unless you know it's a real winner for you. Bright colors are great for commercial looks but 'too bright' colors can sometimes be too much.

  8. When you choose your wardrobe think about your casting. Be specific.

  9. Always bring your favorite item of clothing (shirt, dress, whatever).

  10. Only subtle or casting specific jewelry. Remember, it's about you.

  11. Men- If you choose to come with facial hair and want to shave for a diffent look please bring your own shaving kit. (We have one here if you forget.) Also, don't forget to check for any unwanted nose or ear hairs before you arrive.

  12. Corporate/Professional look: Suits, jackets, dress shirts. Men: don't forget ties.

  13. Commercial look: Sporty short sleeved shirts, colors, layers(T-shirts), sweaters. Think warm and approachable.

  14. Theatrical look: Dark colors emphasize the face, avoid patterns. Pick clothes that emphasize the "casting" you're going for. Be creative. Be specific.
