Casting Concepts

Being specific with your headshots will open the door for more possibility with your casting. And I'm not talking about "dressed up" or "propped out" stuff but real people that you could walk into an audition and carry off.

A good way to get an idea for this is to look at character breakdowns that you know you could play (or write some up yourself.) None of these should be unrealistic stretches, know your casting and you'll win.

Now think of subtle ways that you might enhance yourself to carry that role out convincingly. This can include specific wardrobe, make-up, jewelry, and maybe a prop or two but all of this must be subtle and real in the end it will be your attitude that carries it off. Lighting, location and composition will also contribute to this look.

In the end the picture must look like this character just walked right into the studio and had a few snaps taken with no real effort on anyone's part. Don't forget that now you must be able to carry that character out if someone calls you off of that picture (which they will definitely do.)

At the start of each shoot we can discuss your concept and experiment to discover what works best. With digital we view the images as we progress so there is always the freedom for us to change our minds. Adding glasses, changing your mind about a shirt, or any other minor tweaking would not be considered an additional change.

If you like we can also shoot for a specific layout such as a postcard with a specific marketing idea you might have in mind. For instance, you might have a TV or theatre appearance coming up that you'd like to promote.

Each shoot is structured on your needs. Please call to discuss what options will work best for you.
